Welcome to the Vancouver Photo Nights events site!

Fetish photography is a big part of kink, as any stroll through any fetish website or magazine will show. Models helpless and bound, latex and leather captured on film and sweet pain immortalized in digital splendour. Photo Night is an evening dedicated to this wild and sexy art.

Photo Night takes place on the second Friday of every month at a secret location. Every Photo Night has a specific theme chosen by the community, and starts with a workshop on a given aspect of fetish photography. Topics will include bondage photography, working with flashes, portraiture, shooting latex, etc. Following the workshop, there will be several areas throughout the house dedicated to photography, as well as a variety of props and lights. The goal of the evening is twofold:

  1. To provide a casual and welcoming environment, where photographers and models can share ideas, practice their craft and learn from each other;
  2. Help people who are new to photography learn the basics and explore new realms of creative expression.

There is an official Vancouver Photo Nights group on Fetlife, the kink social networking site. If you are on Fet and are interested in the group, please join the group!

I am looking forward to seeing you at our next event!

Next Photo Night: How to Tell A Pretty Girl What To Do

Our next Photo Night will take place on Friday, May 11th. The theme will be how best to communicate with a model during a shoot, and will feature presentations by models on what works and doesn't work. Much of photography focusses on the technical side of the craft, yet there is precious little on the human side of the art. For this reason, many creative and technically proficient photographers become tongue-tied when directing models through glamour or erotic photo shoots, often asking the model to pick the poses herself. This session will give models the opportunity to direct photographers on how to to direct them!

(No offense to male models - we just thought it was a catchy title.)
